LONDON:A 30-year-old man from Hong Kong, who is in a coma after being treated for a lung cancer, died after a Viagra pill he had taken on a trip to Thailand, police said.
The man, who was believed to have been taking a pill at about 2:30 p.m. on a recent day, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and attempted homicide, a prosecutor said.
The crime scene had been raided in Pattaya and the police had turned over the pills and the body was found on his vehicle, they said.
According to the prosecutor's report, the man had been in a coma after being treated for a lung cancer for nearly three years, but his remains remained unclaimed.
"He was taken into custody and taken to the nearest hospital on a motorbike, where he was given a Viagra pill by his doctor, who advised him not to take the pill for fear of harming himself," a statement from the Ministry of Justice read.
Police said the man, who had been a resident of Hong Kong for several years, had been using Viagra as a recreational drug for the past four years.
